Our Popolo office would like to kick off our new Fun Wedding Fact Friday by having our cake and eating it too!
Did you know at their wedding in 1840 Queen Victoria and Prince Albert took the wedding cake tradition and turned it into something new? Their cake was big: three tiers of English plum cake that stood 14 inches tall, was almost 10 feet wide and weighed 300 pounds. That must have been a sight to see!
Nowadays couples are ditching the traditional wedding cake altogether. Lately, our couples have been super creative when it comes to the sweet treat for their special day! So far we have seen ice cream sandwiches, dessert bars filled with a variety of treats, and donut walls! We have had the pleasure of being able to fulfill these dessert dreams.
